The Metropolitan Museum of Art (colloquially The Met) is located in Manhattan, New York City, United States. Its permanent collection contains more than two million works of art, divided into nineteen curatorial departments. There are ten other museums in its neighborhood, called "Museum Mile", which refers to a section of Fifth Avenue, running from 82nd to 110th streets.
